Tuesday, April 30th to be designated “CASA Day in Ohio” 2024

Annual honor for CASA will feature Ohio Statehouse gathering, public awareness campaign and events statewide

Tuesday, April 30th will be honored as “CASA Day in Ohio.” An annual recognition, CASA Day in Ohio 2024 will feature new and expanded efforts.

Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers, program leaders, lawmakers, child welfare advocates and even court therapy dogs from across Ohio will gather at the Ohio Statehouse Rotunda on April 30th from 5 to 6 p.m. for a special event.

There will be remarks about the importance of volunteers and the future of CASA in Ohio, refreshments and special guests in attendance.

“This is an important time for us to honor CASA programs and volunteers. Their work often makes a life-changing difference for Ohio children,” said Ohio CASA Director of Attorney Services Megan Heydlauff, Esq. “We are excited and honored to welcome volunteers from across the state, lawmakers and other special guests to this event.”

Ohioans are also encouraged to wear blue and red on April 30th to spread the word about CASA.

Many county CASA programs across Ohio are also hosting CASA Day in Ohio events on April 30th and throughout the month.

“We are encouraged to see that the work of CASA volunteers will be highlighted at the Ohio Statehouse and across the state. This is an important time to demonstrate just how important this work is and encourage others to get involved,” said Ohio CASA Executive Director Doug Stephens.
