Description

Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and grief are important, yet often overlooked, factors when working with families experiencing crisis and trauma. Both can significantly influence how individuals think, feel, behave, and respond to stressful situations. This session will explore the broader impact of childhood trauma and how ACEs can inform behavior, relationships, coping strategies, and motivation. Particular attention will be given to the cultural implications of ACEs and grief, recognizing that experiences of trauma, loss, family, and healing are shaped by culture and context. Participants will also examine how their own personal experiences and unresolved trauma may influence their perceptions, responses, and interactions with clients.
